We’re just wrapping up our ACC March Madness competition, and reflecting on how much fun we had during this year’s event. The winner of the contest earned a free lunch, but everyone really came out ahead, since productivity shot through the roof and many of us hit goals that we might not have had the courage to set any other time.
We’re firm believers that healthy competition makes us better at what we do, because it fires up our passion for achievement while encouraging us to be more creative in our approaches. The idea of being regularly compared to our peers is a strong motivator to work harder and longer, so that we can continue to earn the respect of our colleagues and managers.
Competitions also help us identify new ways to be efficient. Not only are we setting bigger goals than normal as part of the contest, but the deadline inspires us to find faster ways to hit our targets while still maintaining the high ACC standards for which we’re known.
March Madness was a great success, and we’re already looking forward to putting the lessons we learned during the contest to work for us. Follow ACC on Twitter to see what gems of wisdom we can share from our competition, and to find out what contest our team members get involved with next.
